A little nursery shoot is something I’ve had in mind for a while. I want to remember Little John’s first room. I’ve spent so many hours in here, sitting in that giant comfy chair, rocking & nursing my sweet baby boy.
I love the light in this room & the diffuse shadows on the walls cast by the crib & the mobile. And thought it would make for some pretty images. The only problem & the thing that’s driving me crazy is the absence of catchlights in his eyes, since the window is behind him. Maybe next time I’ll think ahead & get a reflector ready.
Also, the 50mm lens was a bit too long of a focal length for getting much of this small room & it was challenging to get a proper focus on a squirmy boy through the crib bars with an aperture of 1.8!
In spite of these challenges, I do love how it turned out & I’m glad to have images of John’s North Carolina nursery.
